I am sorry that you missed his call. Hopefully he was able to call someone else.
I left info on your My Page that will help you to get started on the site.
Tamara, I experienced the exact same thing. I was so upset I didn't get to hear his voice. I understand how you feel. And to top it off I haven't been getting any letters. But I can tell you, there is some hope. It seems that they are doing challenges to earn phone calls, because we got an unexpected call over the weekend. So don't lose hope. You never know when that call may come.
I also missed the first call just yesterday, Saturday around 11:15 am. I had my phone on silent from work and didn’t remember to change the setting. I was crushed when I realized I had missed it. He called 5 times and left 2 voice mails. He sounded depressed and sick but I suspect he was just on the verge of crying. His voice was shaky so I think he was ready to unleash the tears. I sent him to boot camp as suggested with a $20 card from Walgreens. He mentioned he was almost out of money on his calling card which shocked me as the card had 350 minutes on it. He had made 10 super short calls because he didn’t reach anyone. His balance was about $2 after those calls. After I reloaded his card the customer service person for the card told me each call he made cost $1.70 due to being from a pay phone. I hope others learn from my mistakes. I also hope that he gets to call again next Saturday.
Hi Linda - sorry to hear you missed the calls :( Definitely turn up that volume and keep your phone handy.
Also, this discussion is pretty old so you might not see many comments here. I suggest you join the boot camp group and start posting there! I left the link to the group in the welcome message on your page.
Also, know that it takes about 9-14 business days before you receive the official letter with your son's PIR (graduation date). Once you receive that you can join his PIR group.
Hang in there and remember, no news is good news!
