OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I missed a key piece of information
Hi,
My SR called me today and gave me his address information, however I missed his DIV# and I have no idea how to get this information.
Can anyone help? Do you know of someone I can call to find out his division? Is there a way to get it?

Cirditto1 - How long has your son been at RTC? You should receive his form letter 4 - 5 weeks from when he left for BC. I would just wait for the form letter, but you could try to call his recruiters and see if their information matches up.
Generally we tell everyone to wait for the form letter because they have to train a Recruit mail petty officer in each division anyway and just because your SR called and gave you an address doesn't mean that it is accurate or did he go back for another quarantine and this is a new division?

I'm wondering if it's even worth bothering with at this point?
He said he's got a projected graduation date of Dec 11th, however he also mentioned a possible delay in starting A School too. Bottom line is, I'm not at all sure where he will be if he doesn't go to A School and he's done with bootcamp, he cannot come home, and I do not have his DIV #, I got everything else except that.
I'll try calling the recruiter Friday or next week perhaps.

First question, have you been following the comments in the BC Mom Group? There are several whose sailors have not gone straight to A school.
Second, if you have a PIR of Dec 11th, then I would encourage you to join the
If your sailor doesn't go straight to A school they are THU - in Temporary Holding Unit and that would be a different address after PIR. Hopefully, he will be able to call home again. Even before Covid, the sailors would not likely have gotten leave to go home for Christmas for those graduating in December.
I don't know if those links I gave you worked right for the RTC sites. I think the December PIR group link will work correctly, be sure to join it. According to the RTC website there is only one TG with a graduation of Dec 10th/ 11th. And there are two divisions 051 & 052 - Do either one of those sound like the division #
If you have the ship # you can at least send a letter and try.

You can always try, I would put Div ? I wouldn't send anything other than just some encouraging messages. It wouldn't hurt to at least try.
I would also still see if you can contact his recruiter if they can help you out any.

You should have received in the mail a basic (form) letter with information typed up that is mailed to the recruit's family. Inside it there is a place where they fill in their name and mailing address for while they are at BC. Did you receive that?
There have been some who have not received the form letter at all, but you should have by now if he is to graduate Dec 10th. (Graduations are actually on Thursday now).

No, I have not received that, and even if I had, it would not have been accurate. He got the flu - not covid - and had to go back to quarantine and that slipped everything but I think somehow he caught back up. I'm sorry, I'm not hep to all the lingo, I have some memory issues and have not had time to sit and read this site. The world doesn't seem to cooperate much these days with what I'd like to do. I do appreciate every response, and they have always been very prompt too, means everything to me. Thank you and have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks for sharing again why you haven't been able to keep up with the other comments. I think you mentioned your memory issues before.
I would give the recruiter a call and see if they are able to help you out with the other information that you have.
You have a Happy Thanksgiving as well.
