Good Morning! I saw you pop on the site. I am just getting ready to log off as my daughter is waiting for me to go for a walk since we have cooler weather after the rains! I hope all is going well with your sailor. Be sure to stop and post a hello on the Beyond BC group.

Oooh, that's great!  Glad he'll be close too!  Just a hop, skip and a jump!  Our son signed his contract to a specific job/rate so he'll definitely be in Pensacola.

My cousin lives on the beach at Pensacola and my Aunt & Uncle are in Mobile so he'll have family near.  The minute they say we can come, we're there.  They should be able to have their cars at about week 6 in A school.  We hope to bring him his car and see him, even if it's for a moment!

Hugs!

Talk about your sticker shock!  My son is also frugal, thank goodness!  I'm sure they will both take extra care with those uniforms!  Our son will be in Pensacola, FL... so just 6 to 7 hours away.  How about your son? 8 days until PIR day! :):)

Yes.   I agree.  they walk past awful fast.  It is going to be hard to grab a glance of our SR.  I hope he gets to be closer to you for A school.  At least there may be a chance to see them at A school.  That is if they get liberty off base.  I am anxious to find out when Battle station 21 will be.  Down to 1 week left!  :)  Have a good day.

At least they don't have to write a check for the uniforms, it comes out before their money goes into their accounts.  Although getting less really stinks when you don't get paid a lot.  Right now they shouldn't have too many bills hopefully.  My son has no debt so only has phone charges & storage car insurance currently.

Hello.  Yes, we are going to make signs and send him pictures to his phone so he will see them when he gets his phone back.  It sucks that we can't even see it happen live.  Have you watched a graduation yet?  I would love to send a letter to the Captain, not asking for anything special but to offer a suggestion.  I wish they would have the Sailors demonstrate some of their cadences and marching.  My SR enjoys that part and I wish I could see what he is talking about.  However, I don't want my SR's name connected to mine.  LOL  I certainly don't want him to have any consequences from my thought.  I don't even care if it was something they started after SR graduates.  Just for future families.   Our SRs are going different places.  Mine will stay in Great Lakes, which may work out for us.  That is if he can go off base for some liberty, even just for a few hours.  We are close enough to drive down for an hour or two.  One week to go!  So exciting.  Talk to you soon.

Hi DoriBry,  I noticed on the PIR site that P&G said her son returned the dress blues because they cost $1000. Was wondering if you heard anything.  I didn't think they had a choice because they have to have them.  Haven't heard anything about that from my SR or on the FB page.

Good morning!!  It sounds like our boys are doing well.  :)  My SR and your SR are good friends apparently.  I think that is so neat.  Every time my son calls, the 3 times, he mentioned your SR.  I hope they stay in contact after BC.  Have you been able to drop your SR from your health insurance yet?  I wrote my SR to ask if they have any documentation of an insurance.  My Human Resources is saying I need proof that he has insurance before I can remove him. I don't understand how difficult the insurance companies make it. We are getting close to PIR.  I am very excited for them.  Have a good day!

Good morning!  Yes I got the call also.  It was wonderful to hear his voice.  I got the same when I asked about a call for Christmas.  I am guessing not now that we received this one.  I am okay with that now since I heard his voice and he is doing well. Not only that but my SR and I figured out that your SR and my SR are friends!  LOL  Apparently they talk quite a bit, I guess when they can.  :)  Too bad they aren't going to A school together.  It was crazy to figure we know the same family.  LOL  My son gained like 15 pounds.  Give or take because he isn't sure which clothes he was wearing or if he had boots or not when he weighed in.  He said he enjoys the food.  How about your son?  Did your son get his wisdom teeth out?  Mine was able to keep his for a bit longer.  He says once in A school they may remove his top 2.  His bottom ones never grew.  I am still so excited from the call.  :)  Have a good day.

Yea! I'm so glad you got to speak with him...this might be our Christmas gift call, so if we get another that's just happy gravy! :) Have a great day!

Hi DoriBry!  Did you get your call, I know it was late because they had to earn it, so grateful to the SR that answered the Chief's question correctly!  My son told me that they have an SR that has a Master's degree in art. The SR designed their flag (a cool serpent with an anchor) and that the SR also sketches them when they are working.  He drew my son ironing today.  I would pay for that!  LOL!

HUGS!

Hello.  I haven't been on since the 17th, just getting caught up now.  No I didn't hear some were going back into ROM.  My daughter is on the PIR Facebook group.  Someone on their stated that division 86 was getting phone calls.  We didn't get one.  Did you hear of anyone getting phone calls Sat?  I am holding out and praying for a Christmas call.  :)

At 8:39am on December 17, 2020, proud and grateful said…

I forgot about Sandboxx.  Was that easy to use?  I didn't send any letters off for today so I am now feeling guilty.  Now we need to pray that our SR don't encounter the ring of fire.  I am feeling optimistic today.  Having a good day, not emotional just happy for him.  :)

Have a good day!

That is awesome!!  Yes Ship 14 Div. 86.  So I am hoping we got our form letters this week, maybe a personal one next week.  However, I am not sure my son will write at all.  At least we can send them letters and have a date for graduation!  At least for now.  :)

At 4:24pm on December 16, 2020, proud and grateful said…

I agree.  I will take any few minutes on the phone I can get.  Just to hear his voice.  Funny, when he was home and arguing with a sibling I wanted to stifle that voice.  LOL  Wow how my perspective has changed.  =)

Wondering if you got your letter yet?  If not, I am guessing it will be this week.  We live in WI so mail will be quicker to us...I think. We are about 5 hours North West of Great Lakes.   My SR I believe is in the same division and ship as your SR and warriorprotector's SR.

If anything comes up on the FB page I'll let you know. Right now parents are starting to get the form letter. We have not yet.

At 5:54pm on December 14, 2020, warriorprotector said…

Awww, right back at ya!  :)  We have not got the letter yet, and might not since his didn't go out with everyone else's.  He said he was writing too slow and they didn't add his to the stack.  Glad he called and I was able to the info from him.  My husband said (he's on the PIR group of FB) that parents are starting to get the form letter. That phone call was hard because he sounded so quiet and choked up...when I hung up I sobbed.  Couldn't help it!

Hi there - I saw your post on the BC group about FB and ID and everyone has chimed in but I just want to make sure that you see the response.  DO NOT SEND ANY ID to anyone on FB or any group!!!  Please be careful - there are a lot of groups out there that will try to scam you.  FB does not ask for ID to join and none of the "official" Navy groups won't ask for ID either.

Hi!

I just don't want to use FB at all, My husband relays anything interesting to me.  I think this is such a great group and there isn't any shaming on here, which is a blessing.  Who needs that? So grateful for everyone on here.
