Andi14 - I have not been on the BC Mom group page for about a week to read through all of the posts. I don't know if there is something that was said recently politically or about medical issues or not. For the most part the admins try to address that, however, we all volunteer our time on here and this is an open forum where anyone can join. I hope that if you have questions or concerns about something you will feel like you can reach out to BelovedbyHim, B'sNukemom, myself, or leave a message for the admins. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of this page in the bottom gray banner on the right side (I am on a computer) you will see - Report an issue. You may click on that and leave a message there.
Andi14 - I have to wake up at 3:00 am for work so I was already asleep when he called. I feel so bad but he knows my schedule. It was definitely a script and he was talking so fast it was hard to understand but I have a voicemail at least so I can play it back.

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 8 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
The Expected timeline will look like this Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting) Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend) Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run) Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later) All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well. Normal PIR will be 8 Fridays after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick) I Hope you’ll come and join us on the Main Boot Camp Moms page: https://navyformoms.ning.com/group/bootcampmoms You may have to scroll down a ways to reach the comments but we’d love to get to know you and answer any questions or concerns you may have or just be a support from others who “get it”.

Andi14- I like to leave a welcome note on our new moms pages.
I see that you have joined the Nuke moms group. That is a great group as well and the ladies on there are awesome!!!
I help out on Boot Camp page along with other moms that like to help out.
There is a lot of other information and more links that will be shared or posted repeatedly on the group but this is important if they are still at home. Make sure to write a short note of encouragement that can be tucked into their Bible or wallet that they can keep to read if they need to as it will be even longer for them to get mail than you and that is about 4 -5 weeks now.
Andi14 - I am one of the "seasoned" moms that is on this site. I help watch for new members in two of my primary groups. BC Mom group and the Nuke Mom group. My son is a Nuke and has been in for 3+ years, he is now out in the fleet. I wanted to welcome you to the Nuke Moms group but I also wanted to encourage you to join the BC Moms group as well. If you look below where boot camp moms is in blue, click on that and it will take you to that group, so you can join.
Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.
Then jump right in! Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question. This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor. Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
