My niece was in Ship 6 Div 120 and graduated last week. We haven’t heard from her. Just wondering if anyone else knows a recent graduate and have you heard from them?

Good morning Kati! I don't think we had very many members on the N4M site that had a PIR this last week. I do know that Mom2blondies son graduated last week. He was staying in GL (Great Lakes) to my knowledge for A school and yes, she has heard from her son.

Where is your niece suppose to be going for her A school? If she is going someplace else other than staying in GL, she might not have her "box" back yet with her cell phone. Depending on where the new sailors are being housed until they are transported to A school, they may not be allowed to have their phones yet.

Did your niece contact you or her parents when she was finished with Battle Stations?

Your subject heading also says - personal belongings? Are you just asking whether she should have her phone back or not? Or are you wondering about mailing things to her. I would not plan to mail anything until your niece has her address established at her A school and then you may want to wait until she knows what her orders are for after A school.

It has been a lot harder with not being able to deal with some things, since their is no live PIR, but ultimately, it is up to the sailor to make contact with their family.

Be sure to also post a comment below in the comment wall area. That is followed more closely by more members of the group and some of them might also be able to help you connect with a Facebook group that might have more answers. My son is out in the fleet now and I am not on FB otherwise, I would see if I could figure something out for you.

Just so you know, it has not been unusual for it to take some time after PIR before some of the new sailors were able to have their phones back and make calls home, from some of our other BC mom information.

Hugs, I know it is hard to wait on that call, especially when you are sure they should be able to.

Good Morning Kati and welcome to our group,

We are glad that you are here and Congratulations to your niece for becoming a Sailor!!! Whoo Hoo We have a Sailor in the house.

If you go to the Boot Camp for Moms group and scroll all the way down you will see a box and it's called the comment wall. You leave your comments there and some of the other moms will see it and might know a little more.

I know Chipmunk left a comment as well and it's pretty much up to your Sailor to make that call when she is able. She may have not gotten her box yet and or is not able to call right away.

I know it's hard waiting to hear from them and we have a saying that I tell all of our moms that No news is good news!!!! Please come and introduce yourself to the other moms if you would like.  :)

Big Navy Mom Hugs to you as you wait to hear from her!!! No question is ever dumb and please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

God Bless and welcome again to our group!!!!

Hi Kati,

I just thought I would check in and see if you have heard from your niece yet and how she is doing? Hopefully you have and she has been able to give you some answers to your questions.
