Kathy: Thanks for posting about your sailor leaving for Pensacola this morning. It doesn't mean that the next PIR Pensacola group will leave at the same time, but we are a bit baffled why someone is telling the 01/18 group that the Pensacola sailors may be held at RTC for a while because of "the storm" in Pensacola. ????
Okay. I will refer to him as Stephen. I also booked our stay at the Ramada. Their rates were pretty good...better than some of the other hotels... and I got 20% off for booking 3 nights :) We are coming in Thursday and leaving Sunday.
Good Morning Kathy,
I haven't booked our hotel yet. I wanted to do that this week and check rates. I will check out the Ramada. Thank you for writing to Alex and seeing how Brandon is doing. I will be writing Brandon today and also telling him that I've met you on the site and see if he has met Alex. I think finding friends in while in boot camp is so important. What A school is Alex going too? Brandon is going into OS (Operations Specialist) and will be going to A School in the GL which is nice becuase we have the whole PIR weekend to spend together. I didn't receive a letter yesterday but I saw someone else's post that said they may not get to write home unitl this Sunday at the end of their real first official week after Pweek. It seems they were on P-Hold for a week and 1/2. I'm at work too...so I guess I better get busy. Have a great day! Tina
I love Myrtle Beach. We usually go every summer and I always went there for summer vacation when I was growing up. We usually stay in Cherrygrove. My sons name is Brandon and he is 19. He graduated high school in June and this is his first time ever away from home for any real length of time. I just hope it's harder on me than him! I never knew I could miss him so much...but I do. I'm sure you feel the same way about Alex. I'm glad this site exists!
