Profile Information

A little about me:
I am a retired police officer , originally from NJ but now living in Louisiana. I have two sons, one in the Navy (USNA 2006 grad) & one in the Army (US Army Reserves) .
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Officer
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
to respect my "baby" as a man and to "let go"....I am an extremely protective parent but, I see that the USNA "sharpened" the morals & integrity I instilled in him. I am proud to be His mother!!!
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Wow, sounds like your son Stephen hit the ground "running" after his graduation! I've heard that some of the officer will go out immediately after graduation. Did he have much notice that he would have to deploy immediately after graduation? Yes, there is always things they cannot tell us, I'm becoming accustomed to this. I'm so glad to hear that your 4th of July will be spent with Stephen and your other children. How many children do you have? I'm the mother of two, my daughter is the oldest and my son will be graduating high school in a few weeks!! blessings, Sherry

Where did Steven deploy to after graduation? My daughter is on deployment now for a while. I think that wonderful that your son has choosen Navy as his career. My daughter would also like to teach at the Academy down the road. Yes, she did graduate from NAPS too. We loved NAPS and all the prep & support they offered there. She's not sure about a Naval career and the balancing of marriage and family with that. So we shall see how things work to glorify Him.

Hi Jacqueline,

I had a beautiful and safe M-day! I will tell her and please tell your son thanks for his service as well. When does your son go out on deployment? Is he considering making a career out of it? Have a blessed day, Sherry

Hi Jacqueline,

Hello, my daughter's name is Lauren and she graduated last year. Almost wish she'd waited another year, since President Obama is doing the Commencement/Commissioning this year!! I noticed your son's speaker was VP Cheney. That must have been quite an experience! Lauren is in Norfolk also and attached to the USS Normandy. She's leaving to go on deployment this week. I'm sure they must know each other, even with the 2 year gap. Hope to talk to you again.

Hi Jacqueline,

Welcome to N4M. Congratulations on your son's graduation from Annapoli and his commissioning! My daughter is an Annapolis grad as well, maybe they know each other. Sherry
