OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

There are no groups for just those with loved ones with the Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) rating, so join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/am.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

I am a teacher and I've told the admin that I apologize, but I will keep my phone on (don't always feel vibration) *just in case*.  Lol!  It was my birthday today and he had left me a birthday card apologizing for not being here. I cried my eyes out.  But they were happy tears. What a thoughtful, thoughtful thing for him to do.

Is your SR attending A school in Great Lakes or somewhere else?  Mine will be a machinist's mate and will stay at Great Lakes for A school.

My son is in the same ship/div as yours!  I was so excited to see that people were starting to get phone calls.  It was wonderful to hear his voice.  Luckily I wasn't in the shower...although he did only have a minute left on his card and had to call me back.  LOL.
