Good to hear from you Mary...Josh was an ET on the ship and is ready to stay on shore for the next 3 years. He missed the birth of his first child since the ship left for a month just 6 hours before their son was born. I got to be in Norfolk and assist so I was happy about that. Their second child will be in Sept. so he will be there. YEA! Here I go again. Grandma to 11! How does your son like ship life...does he have to live on the ship or a dorm?

Hey Anita --- nice to see your post in AECF group. Bet you are happy to have your son so much closer to home!!! What rate was he while serving on his ship, I'm assuming ET or FC but not sure if you had told me before. We are an FC family - hubby did 10 years as an FC and was a C school instructor, now son is an FC and is with his first ship in Hawaii. Please let us know if you have questions, my hubby loved instructor duty.

Hi Anita, welcome to AECF! I was a Navy wife for 10 years myself and my hubby was an FC, now our son is an FC as well. He left GL in january and is currently at the C school for Aegis systems. Please let me know what questions that you may have - the group is great and a wealth of info.

Where is your son's ship homeported at?

Hi Anita:

I met you at the Olive Garden back in the fall. I would be interested in getting together. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and make travel a little easier. A co-worker of mine has a son in the Navy and is also interested in coming. I can check out a couple of places here - we have a couple of Panera's nearby that have community rooms - one is just off 315 at Bethel Rd. Did you do the quilting class? It sounded good to me but far away for the winter. I do need a project! Talk to you later.

Hi Anita, wanted to stop by and welcome you to AECF. I see you are also a Fleet Mom member - is Josh already with the fleet? Is he an ET or an FC? My hubby was an FC for many years and now our son is at C school - he is also an FC, please let me know if you have any questions.

Lots of great folks in the group!
