FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:
Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting)
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later)
All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM
Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well.
Normal PIR will be 10 Fridays after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick)

I looked at one of our links to see if I could give you a definite answer. What I copied below is what I found.
Please note: Your recruits original graduation date may change due to additional quarantine during training. Your recruit will let you know if this happens.
The next time you hear from him definitely ask to make sure to see if they changed his PIR date or if it will be the same. He will be able to tell you this.

Also, it is hard for me to keep up with everyone new, so when the PIR group is created, I most likely won't come tell you, but it should be posted in the BC Mom group on the comment wall. If you are still searching and can't find - don't hesitate to reach out to me. I will see your comment to me in my email feed and reply as soon as I am able to.

I use my laptop for all of my online stuff and I don't have much issues with this site on my computer. But I know if you are on a mobile device it doesn't look as easy to navigate.

Good morning Jenniferssailor - are you following the comment wall feed in the main BC Mom group? - We are a lot more chatty in there than we use to be. With COVID and sometimes multiple ROMs we have people sticking around a lot more than they use to and so sometimes comments can get missed.
Ellen0502 is one of the site admins and she posted that she will get the Feb 2021 group up in the next few days. Since we are just doing one group for the month now, they try to have a little more information from RTC before creating the group.
The easiest way to look for the PIR groups is to scroll up to the blue ribbon above and find Groups - If you click on that, the PIR groups should be the first ones listed.
