Hi Ash, I read your post about your husband/SR's non supportive family and believe me I can relate because my SR's family is the same way. I'm here if you ever want to talk. :)

Ash, Read your post today about your husband's family, so sorry it's like that.  This is a special time for you both, especially with the baby coming!  It will be their loss not to experience all this with you both.  If you care to send me your e mail, I could tell you a whopper of a story!  God bless and have a safe trip, maybe we'll see each other on Friday, my husband and I will be there to show our pride for our grandson along with his girlfriend.  I keep reminding myself the "Brady Bunch Family" just doesn't exist.

Ash, Again so sorry to hear about your inlaws attitude.  It is  hard when inlaws are difficult but it will bring the two of you closer.

After all he is supposed to be one with you!

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." - Gen 2:24 NIV also Matt 19:5, Eph 5:31

I guess God want us to get it since it is written in scripture many more times than thse three.

Another thing you can do is pray...I'm sure you pray for your hubby but also pray for yur in-laws.  I'm preaching to the choir on this one...I find it very hard to pray for the difficult people in my life...but when I do I find peace! Does it change them? Probably not, but it changes me and then I can let God handle the situation and them!

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, - Mat 5:44 NIV

Ok taking off my "preacher" hat....I hope this helps and know that I will be praying for you and your new NAVY adventure.

I soooo wish I was going to be there with you all at PIR and getting to meeting you!

Maybe we will cross paths and meet this side of heaven....take care adn stay in touch.

Message me if you want either on here or FB!

Love ya girl!

Ash, sorry to hear of your husband's relationship with his parents, or lack there of....

It is sad that preants don't support & love their children through everything in life Good & Bad. Once I became a parent of 3 kids and experience it all....and I mean all with my kiddos...my life was complete in a totally different way. I know there have been times that I was completely disappointed in my kids decisions or choices but I explained to them why and moved on. But NEVER stopped supporting or loving them.

I have always been their parent and never tried to be their friend which was hard at times but paid off in the long run.

I agree with Tamme, your husband is Blessed to have a supportative partner, wife, friend, lover ~ ANGEL like you in his life along with your wonderful addition on the way too.

Keep your chin up and be there for him...it may not feel the void but it will make it a little more bearable for him :-)

LOL! I should really learn to check my comments on my page! hahah! I am so excited as it seems that time is really flying by! Is your hubby grad n go? Unfortunately, mine is. :-( I am hoping that he gets a few hours after PIR so that I can spend some time with him. And I am hoping that I can visit him in A School. Where is yours going again? Mine will be in Groton, CT. And it sucks because I am staying behind in Michigan to finish my graduate degree. Ugh! The joys of life...

Hi Ash, Love the ultrasound pictures...reminds me of 20+ years ago for my daughter & 16+ for my son...have a wonderful trip with NS to see your MEN!  Praying you have safe travels and VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!  My daughter is in Nevada with the BF and hunting and shooting clay pigeons...she said her weapons training at BC came in handy...hit 2 clay pigeons! BTW she says since she can re-enlist she is definitely going to get cleared and go back into the military...she's not sure what branch yet...I hope it's the NAVY!  Anyway take care and tell NS you all are in my prayers.  Love you girls! <3

Well, I'm driving and I'm about 6.5 hours away so I plan to leave first thing in the morning. I haven't had a reason to leave at a specific time until now but I'm so excited to meet you girls in person and hang out for a little!! So as of right now I'm thinking mid-afternoon. I've never been to Chicago so I'm glad you know someone with some ideas. I just got off the phone with Public Affairs, I called to confirm that they received the form (which they did)... now it's all about counting down the days (12!!!)
