A little about me:
Our family has no experience, and very little knowledge about the military. Our son's decision to join the Navy was a big shock that took months to get over. But because of delayed enlistment we've had time to learn about the Navy and I feel proud of his decisions.

Hi Marty...I hope all is going well for your new Sailor and he is getting settled into his A-school. I created an event for the Nevada Moms group to get together this month. I hope you can join us, we would live to have you there. Here's the link to the event: http://www.navyformoms.com/events/northern-nevada-n4m-potluck-picnic

Hi Marty,

Just checking up on you and your son. Hope you're holding on strong. Hang in there and hope you get the box and your form letter soon. Keep writing those letters.

Hi Marty,

I'm also a Mom from northern Nevada.  My son just swore into DEP two weeks ago. He won't go to BC until July next year as he has to finish his last year of high school.  I hope that you are doing alright.  I saw that you are still waiting for the phone call.  I hope you get it soon. Hang in there and I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

BTW...there is a group on N4M called Nevada Moms.  Please join the group as it's a GREAT way for us Moms to bond locally.  I think you have met Kelly W already.  She has joined the group too.  Hope to see you there.

I'm glad I can help. You can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted"; I know that sometimes makes it seem way too real, but he is on his way and you should hear that he made it there soon if he took his cell phone.

I'm actually taking a break for a minute to buy a pizza and happend to noticed you just posted this.  Have your son go to NavyDEP.com   That is my website that is geared towards deppers (those awaiting boot camp).

I just noticed that it says your son is already in the Navy.  Is he a depper or active duty?

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Be sure and check out the Survival Guide for Newbies…It has some valuable info you would like to know :) It can be found here: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/survival-guide-for-navy-for-moms-newbie
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
