Jackie ,hoping sea trials last as long as possible, so your son can see his first born. How great is that to witness,your first child coming into this world, so long ago...yet so vivid a memory!
Francine, I took out stock way back in boot camp for Kleenex, making lots of money. LOL

Peggy, my son was a new arrival in mid Oct and his ship has been in dry dock quite a while. Its been hard to be new and patient for him. Sounds like yes, much of the work is monotonous. I know at one point he was hanging over the side of the ship 90 feet above the water with a blow torch blowing paint off the side of the ship. I did not like hearing that! He tempered that with a comment that he can watch the sea lions play in the water below him! He has been reading to pass the time. He was never much of a reader before so that tells me he has been pretty bored. He is finishing up INDOC next week so maybe he will have more to do then when he returns to his division.

Those sea trials take long long long time too. So dont believe rumors. Just be prepared Kathy. Umm, got kleenex?

You'll know when cruise is coming up... the airwing will need to go out on the ship to certify landing procedures and certify flight deck. Your sailors are your first line of communication for cruise.

My son is hoping sea trials take a LONG time for the Big E....his 1st baby is due in Feb!

I know Jackie, and I am the first to say that about rumors, until they get the orders its just a rumor. My daughter actually did get a date for cruz, but dont know what I can share. It came from her command, not a rumor.
