Gloria, we are staying at a LaQuinta-Oceanside...made reservations tonight. $69 a night, King Executive Suite. Hotel is only 4 years old, 5 min away from gate. It's not on the ocean but for the price, I'll live with it. (means I can shop more I guess!)

Hey, are there any other Moms that have a Corpsman graduating from FMTB on December 17th in San Diego? Please let me know so maybe we can all get together the night before...only 19 days until I'm on "vacation" in San Diego...

The military get in free when they tour the Midway in San Diego also. The military get in free or at least get a discount into most places. Just let your sailors know to ask when they purchase tickets

Hey, my son found out that in SanDiego that military personnel get in free at Sea World and the SanDiego Zoo. He had a lot of fun. Just wanted everyone to know so they can pass it on to their Sailor at Camp Pendleton.

Gloria- Yes, my son is taking them to Times Square for New Years:) Being from CA they have only ever seen it on TV and have always wanted to go. Now that my youngest is stationed there and they have a place to stay they can afford it.

I dont know what corpsman moms is! Thanks for the info on stuff to send though. I finally got an email from him and he said he was going on 2 days without sleep and he was getting ready to go on a convoy so another day without sleep. Good thing he's young. I asked him to check and make sure there that there wasnt anyone that wasnt receiving any mail. In boot camp he had a guy that didnt receive anything and it broke his heart so he had me write to him. He gave me a name of a LCPL that hasnt heard from anyone since they've been there and told me a couple of things he likes so I will send him a little care package out tonight with my sons.

If you find the list I would appreciate a copy to Gloria:)

Tamie, my son is a Corpsman, dental asst and is now in FMTB in SanDiego. He graduates Dec 17 and from there he will be tentatively assigned to San Diego but it is not for sure...you know the Navy! What is your son training for? Japan is good duty by the way. Glad to hear from you, don't stay away for so long if you can help it.

want to say hi to all my navy moms i have not been on line for months, it has been very crazy on the home front. LOL anyway life is good, Michael is still in San Diego, he is planning a trip home for Christmas can't wait have not seen him for 9 months. We talk a lot on the phone, but not the same. :O) Then he has told us that he will be leaving for Japan in February. Some kind of training with the Marines, very nervous about it be excited too.if that can be possible.
