OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Does anyone know how many weeks after shipping graduation is?  I am trying to make sure I have the right weekend's off at work, going to clear myself off 2 or 3 to be sure.  My DS is due to leave July 11th, so my guess is I should leave the weekend's of Sept. 1st and Sept. 8th free.  Should I also leave the 15th free?

By counting 9 Fridays, PIR will most likely be 09/08/2017 for those who ship on 07/11/2017. It could be 09/01/2017 for some if they are in a Push Division and are placed in one of the last divisions from the week before. It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.

No, it is unlikely that he would have PIR on the 15th.

Thanks so much!  I am set to be off of work the 1st and the 8th!  My boss is super great though and if something weird happened I could be off no matter what.  I will be sure to book a room as soon as I know his date!

You are very welcome.

So for a leave date of 7/12 arriving in GL on 7/13 I would be looking at PIR on 9/15 correct?

Sailor⚓GirlsMom. By counting 9 Fridays, PIR will most likely be 09/08/2017 for those who shipped on 07/12/2017. Since she shipped at the end of the week, it could be 09/15/2017 for some if they are held over for the next TG. That happens sometimes in the summer due to storms and the large number of recruits who ship in the summer. It is possible for some who arrive on the same date to have PIR a week apart. My son is due to leave also on July 11th. Thank you for the info. We will need to plan booking too! Thank you!

You are very welcome. Remember PIR can be either of the two dates depending on which division he is placed in. Wait on The Form Letter to know the PIR date for sure.

Check your My Page.

My Son leave on July 11th as well. I have been wondering the same thing. Glad I found this site!

:o)

Check your My Page.

My son left on July 13th so it's possible that he will have either of the same PIR dates as well. I love this group for the support and education! I've learned so much.
