For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello everyone, I'm very new here but my son ships tomorrow! I took him to the recruiting station today and he was taken to another city for MEPS where my younger son and I will go tomorrow to see him sworn in and then he will fly out to Great Lakes. He is my eldest son, so this is all new to me. We are nervous but excited and extremely proud of him, but already missing him like crazy.

I think you just answered my unasked question. Our son left on 3/6 and we were calculating his PIR to be 4/28, but I guess we should add a week to that time frame. Still waiting for official letter. Patience is my new best friend.

My youngest son arrived at RTC last night. I am so very proud of him, but have that feeling of a part of me is with him and I am no longer whole!

I agree totally Christina. I find that everywhere I look, something reminds me of him. I know he is in good hands and that the Navy will take excellent care of him, but that mama bear in me wants him back in MY hands.
You and your son will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so glad someone feels the same way as me. I miss my daughter so much. This is my second one in.. My daughter left 3/1.. Praying for all our SR's!

Christina, I understand exactly what you mean! A piece of my heart is at RTC right now. I am glad to know that my SR arrived safely and I am infinitely proud of his decision to serve our country, but boy do I miss that young man!!!!

Our son swears in tomorrow! Like you said, nervous, but extremely proud! I will drop him off at recruiter this afternoon, then he will spend the night in hotel close to Ft. Dix. We will (hopefully) see him tomorrow for the swearing in ceremony. Bringing my Zen in!

My thoughts are with you. It was nice seeing my son sworn in, but was sad at the same time because I knew that meant he was then ready to leave. My son has been gone since Tuesday and it has gotten easier - I don't cry when I see his truck in the driveway anymore! Good luck to you!
