Oleander Thank you for your response as well. And i appreciate the tip on sending each letter individually.  Good idea! Thank you for the support and encouragement and for the navy mom hug! Much needed and appreciated! Thank you for being so welcoming. Glad I’m here.

JayDee659 So glad I found this site. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I have started writing letters even though I don’t have an address yet. Hopefully I will have one soon!

Welcome Mom of a future sailor! Yes, the waiting can be brutal but as JayDee said, no news IS good news. It's just so hard on us moms! Definitely start writing letters, it helped me so much to feel like I was having daily conversations with my daughter. They love getting mail from home! Send the letters individually tho, not packed together. I made that mistake and my girl had to open her "package" in front of Chief to ensure it's contents weren't contraband. lol

We're here for you. Lots of wonderful mom's from every walk of life and with a ton of support and knowledge. Sending you and your daughter a big navy mom hug!

Mom of a future sailor, I know how you feel. Those last weeks are gone in the blink of an eye.  It's hard to embrace this, but truly, no news is good news. It means she's fine and is adapting to a new way of life. I'd imagine that you will be hearing from her soon. Remember to keep your phone with you always. You cannot return a missed call and sometimes they do not have time to call back. I missed a call and it was heart wrenching.  I kept myself busy by writing to her. Even before I had her address I would write, seal and number the envelope. Then when I had her address I sent them all!

In the meantime we're here for you. We're kind of quiet until you get us chatting! The ladies here are wonderful  So glad you found us.

Hello everyone! Newbie here. My daughter arrived at boot camp 2 weeks ago. I received her box last week and now I’m anxiously awaiting a letter. I miss her so much! And not knowing how she’s doing is so difficult. Two weeks feels more like two months to me. Everything happened so quickly up until this point. She had just graduated high school, then two and a half weeks later we had a going away bbq and the next day she was off to MEPS and then RTC.

Katski - any updates on your daughter?

Comment by Blondie on June 29, 2019 at 9:19am

Love it!

Summer has arrived in Ohio. 90's/70's Hot and Humid, pop up storms.... got a very small garden in. too wet and no time.

Pregnant daughter bigger and more tired. LOL  Had some eye issues, but found out yesterday not related to baby, she scratched her cornea. As painful and bad as that is so Grateful it wasn't her BP, Sugar or Baby pressing on anything.

Ex-sailor was in ER again, some unknown infection, we're convinced the Navy knows but is not telling.  She was forced to stop breast feeding very hard on her and Tahlia!  Trying to dry up naturally (cabbage leaves and peppermint) but Hormones are going wild!  Joe got a call Thur. morning they were taking his Grand Dad (who raised him) off life support, he got in car and drove 15 hours straight to make it in time (after notifying the Navy and getting emergency leave) Long story short, he still hanging on. They moved him from ICU to a private room so family could be with him around the clock. Daughter is afraid he'll die today, her 30th birthday.  She has no idea when Joe will come home and he leaves next weekend for 3 weeks (Navy).

My BIL got to come home yesterday after his stoke they found a blocked artery in his neck and then he had heart surgery....

So as usual live is Crazy around here. Hubby loved his job the 1st week but not so much the 2nd....I'm still dealing with old computers.....
