OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Who wouldn't be looking forward to snail mail from her man??? Sure as hell, the first thing that I'd do is probably cry for joy hearing from my sailor again! Well, since it's 8 weeks long, shouldn't it be around the end of December? I hope our sailors are in the same division. And if we do so happen to have the same graduation date, I'd be more than happy to meet you there! Best wishes to you and your sailor! I'm sure that both of us can do this! If anything, you got the whole navy moms community to support you! And I as well since I am a part of it :)

I've heard that you will be getting your first letter in 3 weeks or so... I've been writing letters so when I do get his address, he'd have a pile of my letters to go through. I think something like that for your boyfriend will be appreciated and it'll take your mind off of stuff.

While in boot camp the only way I know of to keep in touch is through letters, so once we get their address we can write as much as we want but they can only write at certain times, which may be Sundays, it been a few days since I read that, once they are at school they can have laptops and can send email.

Hi! My boyfriend also left for November 6 for boot camp. He's at P day 3. It's been hard for me.

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

I see that you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page to remove it from there as well. Number 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) will tell you how to fix that. There may be other changes you will want to make as well, such as change number 3. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Thanks for the Friend request; I hope we can be around for some time to support each other. If there is ever anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in November, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.
