Has anyone had any success getting married while in a school in Chicago? I know the court house closes at 4 and it's a two day process in Illinois, has anyone actually pulled this off and can give me some tips?

What A-school is your boyfriend going to? Depending on how long the A-school is, his higher up may not allow it. But if is it long enough....you can have him talk to his higher ups and he can put in a REQUEST CHIT. Saying he wants to get married. You would have to go to the local court house and get a marriage licence, and either have a Justice of the Peace marry you all or a Chaplin on the base. You then would have to get a few copies of your Marriage Certificate. He then would take to PSD (Personnel Support Detachment)  and have him update his PAGE TWO and get you your ID. If you get married to him in A-school, you have to do it before he gets his orders. If you do not marry him before he gets his orders he could get "Unaccompanied Orders" Over seas....depending on his Rate (his job.) and he would not be able to bring you. But on the plus side....even if he gets over seas orders, he can still marry you, and put you on his PAGE TWO, you would still have his benefits and be taken care of, while he is over seas. If you can tell me his job I can maybe give you more clairety? My husband I married him after A-school, I got lucky since he qualified for state side program. So I married him after he got his orders. If your husband does well on his tests in A-school he can pick his orders. He does get two weeks leave to come home and he can always marry you then. If you do that do the court house marriage.....you can get your marriage certificate and what not done all in one day. Then have him take you to the closest base with a PSD and have him get you an military ID and update his page two....you don't have to go to a Navy base to do this anyone is fine. We went to an Army/Airforce base to have my ID done. Send me a friend request and you can feel free to ask me anything you want. I was in the same position less than 7 months ago. I got lucky that our wedding date fell on his leave.

Hello all
Is there anyone here who got married while their sailors were attending the A school in Meridian, MS? If so can you tell me how the process went? Any responses will be very much appreciated....
