The Navy is a great career as long as you have a wife that is willing to be very independant and supportive. It's not easy but I got through it with four sons 6 years apart.

Hi. Congratulations! A new baby in the family is so exciting and it will be great when Brandon meets her for the first time. I miss John a lot as do his 2 siblings and my husband. My daughter just commented that not only does she miss John but also misses his cooking. After he came home from school and before he left he was trying out several recipes on the grill. We loved his bbq ribs! The first week was tough. It was hard when my husband and I dropped him off. I felt like I was holding my breath until I heard he made it through indoc week. It has probably been good that I've been busy at work and now I'm busy getting my other 2 ready for college. My daughter will be a junior and my other son a freshman. We are in CT so we are close to Newport. I read on facebook about people making their reservations so I booked the Navy Lodge. We also plan to come up on Thursday, although I am not sure about school schedules for my other two. Did you get an email confirmation? I just got a verbal confirmation and was told my son would have to confirm our arrival 48 hours prior to us coming. I keep counting down the days........

Hi - happy to be friends! Yes, my son is in the class. He is also 22 and recently graduated. We have a lot in common. We did get a call and a test email. It was great to hear from him and we look forward to the next time!

I received a friend request from you--even though it may have been in error. You wrote: "My son is in the same class. He said he met a married fellow with 3 kids i bet it was your son." I have a daughter in the class so you were probably trying to contact someone else. Even so, I would still enjoy being "friends" and communicating. This is my baby at OCS. She is our youngest child. I spend a good part of the day praying and the other half working hard and trying to stay busy. I realize this is a very difficult program and I just hope my daughter and all the candidates do well. It sounds as if you have a lot of Navy experience!
