Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Graduation

My family and I went to Great Lakes last week for my daughters graduation. It was amazing. The Navy does a magnificent job presenting their sailors at graduation. Everyone should experience this. I can guarantee that everyone there was completely impressed and inspired. I am so proud to call myself a "Navy Mom". Please look at my pictures and share the proud moment. :) Thank you to everyone's comments.

I can't believe it is time to go to my daughters graduation. We leave in the morning for Chicago. We are so excited!!! Spoke to my daughter yesterday and she said she received her Navy Cap and that makes it official :) I can't express how proud I am of our Drew.

I can't believe we leave next Thursday to go see my daughter graduate from Boot Camp. It has gone by so quickly. Thank God :)

What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most of the "A" Schools and/or ratings. You may also want to check out Women in the Navy, Mom’s of Navy Daughters, and Mom's of Daughters 2.
Hi, I see that you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Number 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) (clickable link) will tell you how to fix that. There may be other changes you will want to make as well. That link is from Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and I know your Sailor has had PIR, but PERSEC is always important to keep in mind. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Glad you got to see my pictures. Not sure where we will move...its a waiting came and it will come down to crunch time soon but I have faith it will all work out.
Have you been able to go under my photos and view? Just wondering if I uploaded them correctly for others to see.
So she has just been gone 7 days!! WOW! Was she excited to go and how did the phone call go when she called? I bet you miss her so much already. Do you know when her graduation is in Great Lakes?
I am all new to all this "lingo" for the Navy talk so bear with me. I am learning probably just like you did. Did your daughter go to the high school here? My son will graduate from high school in May. Turns 18 on the 6th of July and leaves for Phoenix on the 9th for ship off on the 10th. He is doing damage control/firefighter. He had a few ups and downs before he was able to enter in as he has astigmatism in his eyes and was disqualified but then filed a waiver and was excepted. Do you have any other children?
He will be leaving July 10th. Going to Great Lakes which is 40 miles away from my home town of where I moved to Havasu from. I have lived in Havasu since 1994. Is your son in boot camp already?
I am just brand new to this and looking over profile info. and noticed we live in the same town!
