Heidi,

I'm so glad you are getting even closer to that PIR date now!!!  And I'm glad they reopened PIR for families to be there in person!!  There is nothing like it - be sure to pack plenty of tissues!!  What does your daughter plan on doing after boot?? Will she be going to an A school???

Deployments are hard to get through sometimes.  I remember the first one my son had and I was lucky to get a short email once every two weeks!!!  I know my two daughters were different in that they kept in touch much more than my boy, but still it's hard to not hear from them.  I will say that it takes longer to get mail to them so if there is a holiday when you want to send a care package make plans to send it out well in advance!!!  I even sent a Christmas package to my son when he was on the ground in Afghanistan and I mailed it out before Thanksgiving!!!!!

There are many groups that have good information on ideas and suggestions you just have to browse around!!!  Let me know if there is ever anything I can help you with!!!!

Oh, I just looked back at your email request notice and I see you shared that date with me. Yes, be sure to check out the BC Mom group or join the Groups - Navy For Moms (ning.com) - this should be the link for the Sept 2021 PRI group. This is a closed group and you might be a member already and it is not showing up on my end that you are. But that is another great place to post any questions that you have about PIR, if you aren't a member yet already.

Heidi - I hope things are going well. I don't know when your PIR is but we have had some moms posting from their recent experience after attending, so be sure to read the comments that are posted there.

Heidi - It sounds like you are in the home stretch. If you don't want to join the BC Mom group that is okay, you will want to watch for information on PIR though that we post almost weekly. Or read the questions and our answers.

I have accepted your request to join the Christian Navy Moms group.

Also, I would like to invite you to join the Beyond BC group, if you wish. Beyond BC - Navy For Moms (ning.com) - I usually post that link after each PIR for those who now have sailors to join.

Heidi - I noticed your post on the Moms of Daughters 2 group. If you haven't joined the BC Moms Group I would encourage you to do so or at least be sure and come to the group page, scroll all the way down to our comment area - We have a lot of information that gets posted from those going to PIR now, which you might find helpful.  Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com)

Heidi,

Hello!!!  I see you joined Moms of Daughters 2 recently and somehow I missed getting the notification!!  I'm sorry this is late but I do want to welcome you to our group!!!  We have been a little quiet of late but we are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor.  Please feel free to jump in and join our conversations on our group page.  You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! Has your daughter left for bootcamp yet??  We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
