Hi Linda, You have to have confidence in your son. He does not want to have his PIR pushed back a week. My only hope is that the division as a whole is doing well. Unfortunately, if one recruit f**** up, they all get punished, from what I hear. They are there as a team. Its not all about the individual. I have not booked my flight either. I have looked into them, they are exspensive, but I need to figure it out. My husband and I are NOT going to miss this. My daughter is pregnant and due with her 2nd on Feb 12. Too close to this. Well have a good night, Talk to you soon. Linda
Our boys left together. I probably saw him. I was at the airport with my son. We wanted to go to MEPS, to see the swearing in I wish I did go. I got the form letter and PIR is definitely 2/1/13.
Linda, Welcome to Navy for Moms. My name is Linda also and my son left from Maryland on the 6th too. Did yours leave from BWI? We are originally from Maryland, but moved to Florida. My son signed up for the Navy up there while he was living with his friend and his family. They are not in the same ship, but they will graduate the same day. I just received the form letter today. Have you gotten yours yet? I feel the same way you do too. It is very lonely without my son home. My husband and I miss him very much. I was getting text messages or at least on the phone with him practically every day. It is hard not hearing from him. 11 days gone so far and it seems so much longer. Have you booked your flight or hotel yet? I want to try to go to the meet and greet the night before. I hope I can get an early enough flight on Thursday to be able to do that.
