N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello everyone - hope you're all doing well and enjoying the holidays!

Amazing how quickly this 4 years went by - we were so emotionally distraught back then as we prepared for our son to leave for boot camp, hard to believe it's all over. We got him home for good last month & he'll be starting college in January. Thankful he didn't meet anyone & fall in love while in, possibly keeping him from home even longer, or for good. That is the hardest part, having them so far away. I HATE IT!!  :(  We were/are SO proud, and it was such a wonderful opportunity, but as a very close knit family, the separation is awful. Now, for our daughter to be done with her 4 years in April - then she can come home with our grandson more often. Her husband is in until summer 2018 and they're uncertain at this point, if he'll re-enlist or not. I'm hoping not, we want them home, too!!

Not sure where eveyone is these days, but I wanted to say look at how far we have come since we were first put together on this page.  One year ago last week, our kids, husbands, girlfirends, boyfriends, etc., embarked on a new adventure and little did we know that it would bring us all together as a family.  Through all of the tears of the unknowns, to receiving the kid in the box and then the letter with their addresses, we all endured.  I remember receiving the address and running (driving) to the USPS to drop off the 24 letters that I had written since 12/5/2012 . . . . what a year it has been and we did it together with the help of the folks who run this site.  Merry Christmas and wishing you all a fabulous new year.

Sorry for the passing of his grandmother. My mother had a sudden turn in health and is now in hospice care; it's really hard anyway and when our kids are separated from their loved ones changes are extra-hard. God Bless.

Will my son is finally home after being away for almost 9 months. this was supposed to be a very happy time, but he can home on emergency leave. His grandmother who raised him while he was little, passed away this past weekend. He took it very hard and it was hard not being able to see him and telling him in person about what had happen. He was only allowed 5 days leave. His Chief and the Chaplin were good because when they spoke to him they tried to get him home to see her but, it could not get done. Please say a prayer for my mom.

The last four digits are not so important at TSC, there is only one mail room. :)
