Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Okay, I'll barge in. Gabe is in Ship 085; we haven't heard from him yet except for the initial call. Just praying for him daily and worrisome (sp); he is not usually a great communicator. Hope these Divisions are doing well!

Hello Barge, Zo is also in DIV 085 and I havent heard anything else from him either. I keep my phone with me at all times I even sleep with the phone in my bed just to make sure I hear it when it rings. I was happy to see his hand writting when I received the form letter. I must admit I have never seen him write so neatly it kinda made me smile the training has even affected his hand writting :-)

My daughter is on ship 12, div 85 as well, we have received our form letter and the same day I had 3 letters ready to be mailed out. I know there time to write is very limited, so I'm not expecting a lot. We have a prayer group going and they are praying for all our family members to stay healthy and safe as they meet these new challenges and move forward to the next ones. I am so proud of my daughter for making this choice.

I wonder how many male/female in this group? And how are they separately

housed? Do they train together? Hey, Zomom; my son would rather call me stalker, so barge (in) is an upgrade! tee-hee!

lol....I wonder if our SR know one another, how cool would that be. Are you going to the meet and greet?

My son Derek is on Ship 12 Div 085 as well.  I have not heard one word since he called me 2 weeks ago today saying he arrived. I did get the "box" and the form letter, but that's it.  I hope he is doing okay and wait for his call all the time.

Hello Linda come on in and make yourself welcome. I havent heard anything from my son either, I am hopeing to receive a letter from him over the weekend.

I am in stalker mode. When I am at work I call home to see if a letter has arrived from him and when I am home I keep looking out the window and checking the mail box. I am praying for all of our SR that they do really well and that we receive a  call from them soon. We will get to see the Navy's finest on 2/1/13 Hooyah!

Hi ladies, its seems we are all waiting for our first letters. I just booked my flight last night. I'm wondering where everyone is staying when you get there. Has anyone booked a hotel yet? What about planning on the meet and greet? It would be great to meet my sons fellow shipmates parents.

I currently have springhill Suites and Quality Inn booked. Quality Inn rates are cheaper than Springhill Suites but springhill has a shuttle to the meet and greet.

So far I'm only hoping to fly in; the fares from Hawaii jump around like monkeys on a bed. Best case scenario has me flying into ORD around noon Thurs and meeting up with my AF son from Little Rock and will get to stay on base. Otherwise will check out the Navy Lodge or Days Inn for cheap. Sarge's meet and greet sounds like the best; we'll see. Gabe has A school at GL so he'll have to process. Chicago weather could screw everything up! Hoping to go into the city on the weekend and leave early Mon. No way my husband will come, except in spirit. He's tied to his rock!

I am staying at Ramada. Have to fly in from Eastern Shore of Maryland, so not sure about making arrangements yet.  With the crazy prices for non refundable tickets I am holding off.  Not that I don't have faith in my son, but what if he gets sick and gets held back.  I figured I would wait til closer to the date.He will be going to A school in Pensacola after graduation.
