My Son is in Ship 12 DIV 086 and his PIR date is 02/01/2013. I am trying to get the reservations made for a hotel and flight from FL. How soon before the PIR date will he know if he will be delayed? Can anyone recommend hotel that offers a shuttle service to the PIR?

Driving in the snow does not sound like much fun.

Hi, not sure if you are on the PIR 2-1-13 page on FB - my step son is also in the Ship 12, Div 086  - where is your son going to A School.  I was not able to see what your name was to see if you were on the FB page as well.

Where do you live in Florida -we live in Tallahassee.

Thanks

Mindy

Hi Mindy,

My name is Becky. I am not on the FB page but now I will look for it. My son will be going to A school in Pensacola. We live in St Pete. Are you going up for the PIR ceremony? I am trying to find a decent hotel, any ideas?

Thanks,

Becky

Hi Becky!!  Yes, definitely join the FB page  -there is great support there too!  There is another mom in the FB group whose SR is on our Division too whose son is also going to Pensacola!!  Try this link to specifically find the right page -you have to join and then the admin will accept you -you will not see anythign on the page until she does.  I am listed on the Who's Who doc on that page under that division with my name, my SR's dads name and SRs moms name -I am the step mom.    We are currently reserved to stay at the Navy Lodge -only $66 a night -very convenient but may switch to Courtyard - they are getting king suites for $84 -so it depends on if you want to pay more for more amenities -I have heard the Navy Lodge is nice, but just no frills in the hotel -not that that is that important. Find me on FB and friend me!

what is the facebook page?

"Delays" or "being setback" officially ASMO - Assignment Memorandum, can happen at any time during BC.

The best thing to do is not focus on it and make your plans that he is graduating on his scheduled date.

Some good Hotels are the Navy Lodge, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn...Here is the link to the PIR Reference GROUP on here. http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pirreferenceinformation Taks a look in the DIscussion Forum area and you will find one entitled Recommended Places to Stay.

Thank you very much!

Sorry, can some one tell me the facebook page please? thanks.

don't know, wish she had said what it was.

I think the group in FB is  : PIR 02-01-13 TG 12 - 15 Divisions (077-088, 804, 805 and 912)
