Hi Martha,
AJ keeps getting jerked around. Because the Seawolf is in dry dock for 2 1/2 yrs, he keeps being told he will be taking a ride on other subs, then they keep changing their minds. What is Ben's job? AJ is a ET Nuke.

Martha, welcome aboard the USS Seawolf group. We are not as active when they are in home port as we are at sea. My best advise to Ben is tell him he has to EARN the respect of everyone on board. The boat is close quarters and the cooperation and hard work is important. It takes a long time to be accepted by the group (think month's) so tell him to hang in there. The guys are great and I am sure they will help your son find his way. Take care and best wishes

Hi Martha - Glad you had a nice time on your trip to Conn. It's definitely true that just seeing your son will make it a nice trip. Thanks for the tip on Navy Lodge. I looked at it on line and looks like a nice place for us to stay. We're going out in July but I may make a trip by myself for his graduation on Aug. 27. Kyle was hoping to have morning classes but it turns out he has afternoon. With PT 3 days per week and class after he is going to be pretty busy most days. I think it's going to be a lot of hard work for the boys from now on. We're so proud of him as I am sure you are proud of Ben too. Kyle went with a couple other guys to the Mystic Aquarium on Sat. He really enjoyed it and wants us to go there when we visit. --Susan

Hi Martha,

Just checking in to say hi and see how you are? Ben is still in school? Kyle has been on hold in FL since January, but we just got news that he will start school on 4/27. He is doing well.

HI Martha, - Kyle told us last night that he and Ben had a chance to talk and get to know each other a little. Seems they have a similar interest in cars. That is one of Kyle's absolute favorite subjects!! Kyle is really excited to finally reach this point in his training. It's great they are in the same class together. We're tentatively planning to go out and see Kyle in July but were waiting to get more information on his schedule and date for graduation. I think Kyle will like getting done around noon each day. How about Ben? -- Susan

Hi Martha - Kyle told me that Ben is only a few doors down the hall from him. He knows who he is. He told me Ben is really tall!! -- Susan

Hi Martha - We talked with Kyle last evening too. He also said he heard 12 weeks for their A school. He is getting anxious to get started. Happy Easter! --Susan

Hi Martha,

I'm so glad you had a nice visit. My mother-in-law lives in the cape, so we drive through that area whenever we go to visit. It is a very nice area. It sounds like Ben is doing well. How much longer do you think he will be in school?

Kyle likes Pensacola. He does not know when he will start school yet. He switched to the night shift and seems to like that better. ( he always was a night owl.)

I'm not sure about a visit at this point. It would be nice, but I may be starting a new job, so we will see. It was great to hear from you. Keep in touch. I'm not on nearly as much as when they were in bootcamp. Thank God for this site though. It really got me through that very difficult period.

It is much better now. If I can talk to him once, or twice a week than I am okay.
