For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I just got off the phone with her I was able to talk to her for an hour and 10 minutes can you believe it! OMG I cant belive it, she was in the office entering in information for her background check and she was telling me about everything, they are doing good.. the food in not too bad, she is making friends, it is hard but she is making it.. She said that they do not make them go out if it is over a certain temp, she said that all the people pretty much get a long, she said that they are in the drill team doing flags, she said that she is part of the Nasty Nine, LOL cleaning the bathrooms :) aweeee... The best part was when I said do you know someone named Mckinsey and she said YES that was my bunk mate! I love her she is so cool and awesome, I wanted to cry how God works WOW....I am so glad to meet you and know our daughters are in this together, My name is Deanna by the way!
Mckinseys MOM! My daughter is on the photne with us right now and she was actually bunk mates with your daughter , she said your daughter is really awesome and always super happy and doing REALLY GOOD! WOW SO COOL!

Hi McKinsey'sMom! Welcome to the group! My son Graduates in 10 DAYS!!! Yeah...I am pretty excited! I just wanted to comment on your statement about the pant legs being rolled up in your "Kid in the Box". So were my son's and I just couldn't figure it out. Until...I watched the Navy Boot Camp video. There is one quick flash where all the recruits have their pants legs rolled up and are stepping onto the special machine that measures their feet exactly just prior to receiving their tennis shoes. Then immediately after that, their civilian clother are stripped off and stuffed in the box for home. They don't even give them time to fold anything! Ha! It made sense after watching the video. oh and ps. we are in spokane wa... i see that you are in portland. if i'm wrong again, my apologies. we love seaside, usually go there once a year. probably not this year as it looks like we will be going to graduation. my daughter is going to be a corpsmen....
i know it is really hard to figure out how to navigate this site. i think i "friended" you. my daughter left june 11 for boot camp. i was reading, (and probably wrong) that your daughter also left june 11? (still trying to figure it all out). but if it was you, you already had your daughter's info from recruiter? i was thinking about calling my daughter's recruiter. i think my husband would probably just say wait for the form letter...
I am doing better also. Unless of course I think about him. I still cry off and on but I'm making it.
