LadyBluefire-- Deep Blue, Copaiba (About 30 drops) and Frankincense (5-7 drops) in a roller ball with your favorite carrier oil. Apply liberally as needed until the pain has subsided or injury is healed. Dilute further for a great after workout rub for achy muscles to aide in rapid recovery. I Have been using this for a ruptured disc in my neck for several years and it has helped greatly!! Shanny-- this will help your tweaked back too!

Yep those orders are changing minute by minute!! Congratulations on Number 4 doing so well!! I guess all the notes from his siblings paid off!! Hopefully his A school goes well and they are able to all come home for Christmas! (Hey, we can always pray it happens even if it’s slim!)

Shanny-- OH Yes!! No trash in the trash can but there better be a bag in it and it better be clean!! I never understood that one either! Something about attention to detail but it struck me as silly!

Kristel2400, VintageGal, Jen(OS Mom), MyKidsMom, rebecca1957-- I have all of you on this weeks list. Do I have that right? Anyone else?

VintageGal-- Your reading nook sounds lovely!! I spent the day trying not to get killed and or freeze to death!! Frozen roads and a High of 19 today!! It’s snowed all day and I have been trying to get caught up on a week of FB and posts here. Anyone want my temps?? (It’s 12 right now at 8:30 pm and expected to go into single digits overnight!) I hope all those evacuated from their homes got their home winterized before they had to flee-- otherwise there may be a lot of frozen and busted pipes!!

Mellie-- Welcome!! You found us just in time to finish!! Let us know when you get the “I’m a Sailor” call. They don’t call it that though. I’m so sorry that you have had such a Long BC without us! Have you gotten connected with your A school page yet?

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 8 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)

The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting)
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later)
All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM
Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well.
Normal PIR will be 8 Fridays after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick)

Hi Mellie,

I see you have just joined this site and you have a SR (seaman recruit) that is at BC now. I encourage you to join the BC Moms group   https://navyformoms.ning.com/group/bootcampmoms?commentId=1971797%3AComment%3A11251619&xg_source=msg_com_group

When you join, be sure to scroll down most of the main page of the group, past the discussions till you come to the comment wall and introduce yourself. That is where we do a lot of our chatting and the best place for us to get to know you and encourage you through the ups and downs of BC.  My sailor has been in the Navy for over 3 years now and is a Nuke out in the fleet but I still stick around the BC Mom group and help answer questions.

Welcome Aboard!!

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
