OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

First Missing my Sailor Moment

Posted on February 27, 2011 at 9:24pm 1 Comment

Yesterday I was shopping for dresses, which is frustrating in its self, for my mutter's upcoming wedding. So all of a sudden in the middle of our shopping, with 5 people in total, I start crying. Now I've never been the type who likes showing people my emotions and I can normally control my crying moments but not yesterday.

Here's some advise...Don't expect anything.. It sounds hard but its better that way.. You'll start getting letters i think is the 2nd or 3rd week...Do write him alot, its what keeps them going. Everyone will tell your the same thing. but you'll realize how true it is when you hear it from your sailor. I've written so much and sent out so many cards that I joke about how my bf will get to A-school and still have unread letters fom boot camp.. Another thing keep busy.. It will make the time go faster. I'm 5 weeks in and it has gone pretty fast. Oh yeah and if you start feeling like you've become bipolar(lol) its normal. One min you're all smiles the next min you're just crying non stop.. I've joined a few groups on FB.. the girls there are very nice and supportive. And remember your friends at home want to understand you, but they have no idea what this feels like. So if yu hav e a fb should join a group of 2!!! Good luck!!! and if you have any questions feel free to ask me!!!
