DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

So far don't have much experience, other than i have a cousin who has been enlisted for a year now. He is being sent to Haiti on a ship for two years. Most that I know about the Navy is that they take care of the family of the Sailor. I am excited and nervous for the ventures we will experience together.

He will be given a couple of choices soon...to be an ET, EM or MM...he will also need to make the choice for surface or sub! ET and EM will be in school @ Charleston, SC for 6 mo (A School) and 6 mo (Power School); then @ either Charleston or Ballston Spa, NY for an additional 6 mo. An MM will have the same schedule except for A school will only be 3 months.
Definately start reading on the boot camp mom group JessicaB-mom suggests below! You will find a lot of information on those pages.
You can be assured that no news is good news from boot camp! You should start getting mail soon, as they have time to write on Sunday afternoons. Calls are not guaranteed by any means...my son made three calls only during the 8 weeks. Write him often, but don't send any packages!!

Welcome aboard! You will definately want to check out the wives, finacee, girlfriend group on this website as well as the Nuke and bootcamp pages. These will both help you out! Will he be an MM, EM, or ET? Does he want surface or sub? Remember to always encourage him...Nuke school is tough, but he can make it if he wants to! Help him to stay focused!!
