Rhonda888 - the world really IS small. That's amazing. And my sailor's sister is a senior at LSU. Is your son on a sub now? Mine is on the USS Louisiana (isn't that ironic?) He's just a rider this trip. He's permanently assigned to the USS Nevada,...

You'll never be ready. It just happens. But you will make it thru this. Promise.

And how long has he been at BC? Sometimes at the beginning they are discouraged. It will get better as the weeks go by. I have the same question at Kirsten - is there a particular reason why he thinks he won't graduate on time?

Donna - just because your son's wife isn't going to graduation doesn't mean that you can't go. There are no "tickets" - your son just has to put your name on his list and you will be able to get in. But if you can't go by yourself, then by all mea...

Sounds like my son's PIR last Sept. How many divisions graduated today? Was the hall filled? Hope you have a wonderful day with your sailor tomorrow.

Hi Suzanne,
Yes his ship pulls out first thing in the morning heading to Norfolk. Due to his injuries they are not wanting him to leave his ship right now. Anything you can send him will be greatly appreciated. They had to close all his accounts and he has no money to his name now and seems that the cost is still climbing for what we are going to have to do to get this stuff straight now. Cost me $100.00 I didn't have yesterday to get him a phone back and we will have to tow his car when he gets to Norfolk to a dealership to have a key replaced and reprogrammed to his car and just alot to try and take care of now. I hope and pray they catch the thugs that did this to him. I couldn't be more hurt and upset as I am right now. My baby could have lost his life over this....Im putting his address in a seperate message. Thanks so much.

He said he would be E-3 when he left BC. However, I don't know his job as he went in undesignated. He is going to A school in Pensacola for two weeks after PIR as grad n go. PIR is Nov 13 and yes, I am planning to go and take his girlfriend with me. We will only have some time after PIR as he leaves the following morning. I suspect we might have a couple of weeks with him after A school but know that nothing is certain.

My son graduated high school in Pineville, LA. I moved to Lafayette in 08. He's in boot right now so I'm not sure where this leads to after A school. We'll have to keep in touch.

Hi Suzanne,

Nice to meet you, it's great to find other moms on the same boat let alone the same crew, yes my son is on the Gold crew of the Louisiana. This is his 6th straight year on subs (boomers), he was on the Pennsylvania Blue crew before this boat, this is his 2nd deploy on the Louisiana. What does your son do? Where do you live? I am in Colorado. My 2 dogs are Basset Hounds, cute huh? I can't wait to hear back from you, Good Luck to your son, I think he will love it, my son does.

Hi Suzanne,

Since your son is at sea now, he is on the gold crew. If you check out my friends. Julie and Pam both have sons on the gold crew. You can still email him while he is gone but you probably won't hear back very much if at all. When they are working on getting qualified, they are very busy. But, they do get the emails you send even if they don't respond much. For this age group, I sometimes feel like they are safer at sea then they are when they are home fooling around. So, hang in there and you can be sure the Navy is watching them closely.
Hope to hear from you, take care.

Hi Suzanne,

Yes, my son is on the USS Louisiana. He really likes his boat and crew. What is your son's job? Do you know if he will be on the gold crew or the blue crew? My son is on the blue crew. I know some other Louisiana moms so I can let you know who they are if you want. But, if you found me, you can probably find others also. How long will your son be in the area? My son LOVES to hike and he has been spending a lot of his spare time climbing mountains. I look forward to hearing from you and I will answer any questions that I can.

Take care,
Lynn

Hi Suzanne, I would like to hear what you know about the car shipping situation. My gut feeling is its going to be a nightmare. We live in Calif and Lee is in Groton,Ct so driving all the way is sort of out of the picuture. So where is your son and what is he doing. I am so new to all this, as Lee just got out of boot camp a couple weeks ago...so any help is greatly appreciated oh and by the way my middle name is Suzanne spelled the same way, lol
take care ellen
