When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Never expect things to work out exactly how you want them to, suprises are around every corner.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Just got your reply from a while back, but If you ever need anything don't hesitate! And don't feel childish. At least you care enough to ask. A lot of people just sit around and say "the Navy screwed me on this and that" but they never contacted anyone for help. One thing you will always find is that there is someone there to help but YOU have to find them. Once you guys get to his ultimate duty station then find the fleet and family support center and use them all you can! You wouldn't believe all the services they have there!

He isnt even scheduled to leave for almost another year and I'm already so frustrated with this process! I keep telling him that it would be so much easier and he keeps saying his recruiters told him not to add any dependents before boot camp... but I dont think he has asked specifically if we can get married. I was not planning on living together with him until he is assigned to his first duty station after school anyway.... so what I'm mainly concerned about is getting the paperwork done when I can be the one making sure its done and also getting to have the wedding that I want.

I'm not sure what to do though. I would go talk to the recruiter myself but I have a feeling he would probably get upset if I did so.
