Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Tammy66,
Thank you for the friend request. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Tammy66,
I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in boot camp now? Please feel free to jump in and join our chats on our group page. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!! Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! By the way, I was born and raised in Chardon, OH. Always eager to meet a fellow Buckeye!!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
Don't forget to make at least change 3.
Mom's of Daughters 2 is more active than Mom’s of Navy Daughters.
I see that your recruit will go to “A” School for Cryptologic Technician -Technical (CTT) instead of CTI. Join the groups, cryptology at pensacola moms, Sailors at Corry Station holding or in school, Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola, and Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!.
The Rating Information Card for CTT can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ctt.pdf and https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/cttaef.pdf (CTT-AEF). (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR, but may fly out on Sunday due to flight availability issues. Plan to leave on Sunday if you are able. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Since CTT is one of the Spook ratings, the information within the Page, OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile), will be important for you.
Don't forget to make the changes below.
You are very welcome.
You may want to check out Mom's of Daughters 2, Mom’s of Navy Daughters, and Women in the Navy.
Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit.
Given your recruit's contracted rating, I also suggest changes 6 and 7.
Join the groups, CTI and Cryptology ~ CTI ~ CTM ~ CTN ~ CTR ~ CTT ~. The site, DEFENSE LANGUAGE INSTITUTE, may also help you.
The Rating Information Card for CTI can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/cti.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)
