OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank you Tanya!  We don't have current passports but will be getting them.  I am so excited for my sons.  They are twins (could you tell from the pics on my page?) and have never been apart, even now they share a dorm room in Pensacola.

Thanks so much!  I have a feeling that she is on his orders and has decided not to go.  She also was in the Navy, but is out now.  Wish she would change her mind (if allowed?) and go since you said how great it is over there!

Question for you:  A friend of my sister's has a son-in-law in the Navy.  He had orders to go to Japan before the earthquake hit.  Got scared...and got them changed to Guam.  Then decided he didn't want to go there, and is back to Japan now (not sure where in Japan).  This friend is upset because her daughter tells her that she is not allowed to go over there with him and will receive no housing allowance.  The daughter/2 kids are moving in with my sister's friend (mom) because of this.  Does that sound right to you???  This "friend" is known for not always being "truthful."  :-)
