OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Don't forget to make change 3.

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Good Morning!  You started my day with a smile!  Thank you!  Actually, his birthday is NEXT Thursday..... Just think, I could be getting my Box delivery the same day I delivered him just 19 years ago!  Yea!

Well lets hope for weather improvement soon- at least by the beginning of April, right?  Are you close enough to drive to Chicago or will you fly?  It's about a 5 hour drive for us and only a 2 hour drive for our daughter in GR so we'll drive over.  One day away to the Friday Count Down!

Hope your son makes it there today!  As for getting info from them.... I heard writing a "check off" letter is a good way and they find it fun.  Ask them questions with possible answers listed below that they can select.  Of course, with the rate question that would have to be a fill in the blank.  Maybe you'll get some answers.....

Have a good day and keep warm!

My son arrived at BC yesterday evening- got our call at 7:40 that he arrived.  He is my youngest (turning 19 next Thursday- think they'll celebrate with cake?- hahaha).  I have two girls- the oldest is a Senior at Grand Valley- MI and plans to look for a job (teaching) in the south- NC or SC.  My middle daughter married her Marine sweetheart right before he deployed last February.  She lived at home with us until he returned in November and then moved down to NC.  So I've gone from a full house to an empty house in a few short months.  I'm looking forward to this next chapter but its so much change in such a short amount of time!

Our sons may graduate the same day.... we'll have to see when we get our info!  What's your son's rate?  Mine is LS-FTS.

Have a good day and keep warm!  Where are you?  We're in the snowy state of Michigan!

Hello!  So you have someone heading out this month?  Son or daughter?  My son left yesterday....  Thinking about him.....  how did it go last night?  Did he get to go to bed yet?  I know he's ready but I'm not sure I am.  Guess I better get myself ready!  It's comforting to know I'm not alone in how I feel.I look forward to chatting with you!
