OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since your SR has a contract for Information System Technician (IT); join, or at least check out, Corry Station IT Moms. IT A Schoolers, INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN - IT, ITOF, IT-ATF, ITS, Sailors at Corry Station holding or in school and Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!. The Rating Information Card for IT can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/it.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend. Since IT is one of the Spook ratings, the information within the Page, OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile), will be important for you.

You have joined PIR 11/08/2013 TG 52 and there will later be a discussion within that group for your SR's division and its brother division, Division 429. It is best not to have a group for just one division since there will not be many people who find it and there is much more info for everyone in the PIR group, so please  do the following to have the group, PIR 11/08/13 Ship 03 Division 430, removed.

To remove a group, go to your group and click on “Options” in the upper right. Then click on “Edit Group.” Under “Members”, click “Approve all new members” and then click Save. Then Copy the URL to the group and go to “Report an Issue” at the bottom of the Page and click that. Click “Other” if it is not already selected and then ask Colleen to remove your group and paste the URL. Thanks.

What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
