Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It's not a good idea to post a pic of your Sailor every time you post. See change 4 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). To increase PERSEC, don't include ANYONE in your profile pic.

Also make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your Sailor.

Hi! If you could send me the Facebook link that would be great.  My son is scheduled to be in Charleston for 1 1/2 years after PIR.  He hopes he has a better opportunity to work out after BC.  He said he is getting in worse shape rather than better shape due to the long hours of studying and instruction.

hello!

Good to hear from you! Sounds like you have received the first wonderful letter. My son wasnt great at writing so many, but when he did, it was cherished!  We wrote him all the time and when he graduated, it was so good to hear that he had always looked forward to the mail; it kept him going.

we went back for the PIR on 8/10/12,not to be missed!  the next day he went to San Antonio. It was great to hear from him after that allot more often by cell phone, and by Skype. He graduated the first part of December and then on to Dental assisting. He graduated 1/31/13.

Now hes home and attending the Reserves drill at San Jose station. Allot of very good guidance and allot of opportunities. Attending Jr college new quarter, working, bought a car. Applying for C school back at San Antonio for the Fall. Looking towards Nursing Degree.

Anytime you want to get together for lunch or just coffee, Im open. Let me know!
