OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I just emailed her DD214 to her recruiting station.  I am hoping the waiver process will be painless and easy... Fingers Crossed!  I am super excited!

Hi Everyone!  She's been home for 3 months as of October 3.  We have officially called the recruiter to try and start her re enlistment.  We had x-rays and an MRI done, and nothing showed up.  She is now able to walk, and run a little with no pain.  I am excited about this second journey of hers.  My Son is wavering between the Navy and the Army.  We start his journey this time next year.  I hope and pray all is well with your Sailors and Families!  God Bless, and Fair Winds and Following Seas!

Hello all.  Wanted to give you a quick update.  My SR has completed A school and will be coming home very soon.  We were incredibly blessed to hear his duty station is 45 minutes from home so they will be close for the next 4 years.  My grandson was born on 7/10 and my SR has not met his son yet.  In the mean time, here's a photo of my SR and his new born son side by side.  I will post one of my SR holding him once I see them together.  Love to you all!!!  IMG_0101.JPG%20%282%29.JPG

I found out that my daughter is in class 1334A, so let me know if you have sons/daughters in class 1334.  :)

Not only did I actually have some FB communication from my daughter yesterday, but she also actually called me today.  Thanks to all who have been aware of our situation and have kept us in your prayers.  More are certainly welcome, I think it will take time to heal from all we've been through but this is a huge, huge step for her.
