OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

mstiny,

Feel free to come and vent anytime you need to!!!  You wouldn't be the first and I am certain there will be others behind you as well.  It is a stressful journey we moms (and grandmoms) take and not everyone in our lives understand!!  I admire the changes you are undertaking to be able to take care of your grandkids!!  The good thing, moving to CA isn't the worst place you could go!!!!   I was stationed in San Diego (North Island) years ago and ended up staying for 8 years.  There is so much to do.  How old are your grandchildren??  I would be more than happy to share some ideas of fun things you can do with your grkids while you all wait for your daughter to come back!!  Where in Michigan did you live?  I'm in Milwaukee right now and lived in Marquette for awhile back in 2010.  Will you return to MI or stay in CA after your daughter returns??

Tell your daughter "Thank you" for me for her service.  And fair winds and following seas for her and her shipmates on the Kidd!!!!

Join USS Kidda nd/or Destroyer Moms (DDG), You may want to check out Mom’s of Navy Daughters, Mom's of Daughters 2, and Women in the Navy. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty)? There may be a group for that as well.
