Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Cold feet

My daughter is scheduled to leave for boot camp on Sept 18th she is getting scared and has come to me asking to stay home and go to college. Her last two meetings with the recruitors were tough for her since she needs to lose five pounds. They told her of she didn't lose it they will drop her. She sounds like that is what she wants. But also has a boyfriend she doesn't want to leave and I seriously think she is getting cold feet. I have sat with her and talked about her future. And the… Continue

Hi all,

My daughter Courtney is my first born and leaves in Sept. for boot camp.  I am a mess.  I think I may be having separation issues already.  She is eighteen and graduating high school in May.  With all the party planning and other school activities going on I know that the next six months will be gone in a flash and she will be gone.  I am terrified for her and excited at the same time.  I dont let on to her how much Im going to miss her yet because Im afraid to discourage…

For new members, please check out our survival guide written just for you.  If you lose the page, don't worry. You can always find it by going to the MAIN page for this site (click the MAIN tab on the above menu bar).

Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (click on this, it'll take you to right page). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups such as the Boot Camp Moms group. Additionally, you'll find tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient. BTW, you all have a personal page. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menu bar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any messages from other moms on your comment wall.

Good luck.  Start reading the survival guide. You should print it and refer to it.
