Hey again. I'm headed in your direction on your PIR day to see my sailor who is in Newport News! Just noticed that you are from there. We will be staying in Williamsburg and meeting up with some other N4M moms coming down from Maryland and another part of VA. Should be fun! I'll be thinking of you all at PIR when I'm headed up to VA!

Hey! Change your cell voicemail to greet your new sailor while you are in flight with phone off . Ask that he leave LOTS of messages by callling back several times so that you can get "the scoop" from him. Many do this when they will be in flight during the I'm a Sailor calls. HAPPY PIR and congrats on your new sailor!

It will be a wonderful memorable and special time with him...trust me! Amazing how just 8 weeks can change our boys so much...in good ways...yet leave the "special part" in tact.
I'm excited for you! PIR is THE BEST!

Is there anyone else that your son would love to see at PIR who could go? I know their names won't be on the list, but chances are, they would get in arriving with you in place of his dad and wife. So sad knowing the disappointment he may feel in not having his dad there....but hopefully he will be so wrapped up in the joy of his accomplishments he will not harp on it...and will be thrilled to celebrate with MOM anyway!

welcome aboard. Yes I have heard from my son, one 10 min call about 2 weeks ago and 4 letters so far. he said the division started with 75 and was down to 65. he has it was hard but he was going to stick it out to the end. this is hell week for the kids as well as the week pictures are taken.
I just heard from Moonman who said his son just called him. he was sized for his dress uniform and he also was going to the end.
Are you going to PIR and where are you staying? I will be at the Residence hotel. my son's birthday is the end of sept, and i thought maybe a get together to celebrate our kids accomplishments. I hear junk food and cake are what they all want. Keep in touch. I also thought I would start our own discussion, since there are at least 5 moms that I know of in our division. By the way my name is Beth.
