Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Now at Boot Camp!
My son left for Great Lakes on Wed., June 20th. I received the 3 min. phone call in the early morning hours of June 21st. Its so hard not knowing what is going on and how they are making out!!! I think I'm doing fine, then I see or read something that reminds me of him and I start crying......can't wait till these become tears of Joy and Pride for him!

My son left for Great Lakes on the 13th. I still get teary eyed at times but it does get a little easier each day. I received a short call when he got to the airport to let me know he had arrived and I thought he was going to be able to call once more with his address once they processed him in. I didn't know that the airport call was going to be my last for awhile so I wasn't prepared for that. Now I am waiting for his box of things so I can send him out the letters I have for him. Hang in there...and remember each day is a day closer to graduation day!

i know it is hard. i cried all the time when my husband left. every time i looked at pictures or even when i got his box and it smelled like him i broke down. but it does get better! i thought i was never going to make it i was miserable, but when that first real call comes in and they tell you all the great things they are doing and how well they are doing you are going to be sooo happy!!! keep your heads up and if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask

My son left for boot camp on June 20 as well. I got a phone call about 10 p.m. Eastern time that lasted for about a minute at best. It has actually been easier to deal with than I first imagined, but still get weepy every now and again. I slept in his bed the first night though. I am just trying to keep busy to keep my mind off of him being gone.

My son also left on June 20th; I received the call around 12:30 AM; short and sweet telling me everything to expect in the mail. I'm still trying to figure out what day they are on, since they got into GL so late on Wed night. Hopefully, he will be starting Basic Training tomorrow. I think they should have some type of chat room so that parents/girlfrieds, etc. can keep track of what's going on during this time. In today's day of technology, its so hard to believe we can get any info at all during this time; just saying!
