Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Keeping myself busy waiting for that precious letter
I believe my postman has come to think I am expecting something important, as he brings the mail a little earlier. It was another heart ache day of no letter arrival. Trying to keep myself occupied, I decided to rearrange some books and came across the book my son wrote and had published for when he was in eighth grade. Wow, who knew that beloved book would come to mean even more to more to me this very day. It was almost as if he were saying "remember this"? It was all about our bond as mother and son and how strong it was. It warmed my heart and opened the flood gate of tears. But to feel his presence even through his words as an eight grader brought much comfort. I know in my heart he is fine, staying strong and being the very best he can be, but he will will always remain my one and only baby boy ( he would die if he knew I called him that, especially now that he is a man).

Hang in there! It is a difficult time to be without them and not able to just call them when you want. But it truly does get a little easier once they complete Boot Camp. My son has been in for a year on Dec 1. He is my one and only son and my youngest child. It was hard at first. Once he graduates BC, you will be so proud. That truly is a once in a lifetime moment. Our postman caught on and started bringing the mail to our door when we had a letter. We didn't get many but I stayed plugged in to this site and it helped get me through. Wishing you and your son the best wishes.

Thinking of you and knowing what you are going through. The phone and this site are the most important things in your world at this time. I couldn't wait to get thru my work day and get home to this site when my son was in BC. It will carry you through. :)
