For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

still no "form" letter, still no call

I am im-patiently waiting for the "form" letter, and still have not received a call from my new recruit. She has been at Boot Camp since February 16. I am hoping to get something in the mail today. This waiting is no bueno for this momma! I know she is surely covered with daily prayers, but, I can't help myself. I know she is doing great things! I know this "waiting" is also something we all will have to get used to. Lord help us! Give us peace and understanding!

Comment by Dutchess on February 27, 2016 at 11:11am: It takes about 7-10 days after you receive the box to receive the form letter. It's about 2 to 3 weeks after they arrive.

It's funny how the recruiter told us we'd probably get his box by Saturday and his letter very shortly after that. But here everyone says it takes much longer. Here they tell you the truth - recruiter just tells you what they know you wanna hear! Hang tight - hopefully you'll hear something soon! Yes, I guess this is something we'll all get used to. I don't like it either! Praying for all our recruits and sailors :)

Comment by lemonelephant on February 28, 2016 at 5:37pm: Ten days after arrival is the average time to receive The Form Letter meaning that some have it before that and some after. Most will have it by two weeks after arrival and the recruit is usually in the permanent ship by then, so if you have not received The Form Letter on or before Tuesday, then call the recruiter and get the address and double-check the address against those at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.html or Ship/Division--How it Works.

She will be in a integrated division, one with both males and females, and they sometimes take longer to fill than all male divisions. There are others with recruits who arrived on the 16th who are also still waiting on The Form Letter.

Looking forward to writing my girl, and hopefully send her a phone card before she graduates! I miss her more than imagined! But, I know God is doing great things! GO NAVY!
