Allison, hugs to you!  The first days are hard, the first week is hard, no kidding, it's just hard to be away from our babies not knowing what they're doing.  You'll get your kid in a box soon and that will just about kill you.  Just keep tissues on you at all times.  When you get to PIR you'll be amazed at how she's grown.

Couple of tips:

Keep your phone on your person with the ringer on loud at all times.

Keep a tissue in your pocket.

Start writing now.  Date and number each letter as they don't always get to our sailors in order.  Write happy things and if you have a computer put pictures of things that she loves on a word document and use that as stationary.

Hang out here with us.  Others may not understand but we've all survived and are here for YOU!

Good morning to my most special virtual friends ~ Navy Moms. I have been out of touch for awhile with family illness & an out of town wedding but wouldn't you know that this was the morning I had time to log in & see all of the love among our group! Such a blessing & comfort.
I relive all the anxiety of boot camp separation whenever I read comments from new moms. Then I give thanks that I was even told about NavyforMoms. Our family has many more years of Navy life experiences to look forward to but the last 2 years have been much less stressful because of all of you.
Quick update ~ I leave for that far away country where my daughter is trying to cope with being the only female in a super high stress - high fallout rate. Cannot wait to put my arms around her! This trip would never be possible without the extreme generosity of my best friend's frequent flyer miles.
Blonde ~ my prayers are with your daughter for good delivery & your safe trip.
Anna ~ you know the struggle history here & I could never have been strong for my girl without your wise counsel.
Bbcregular ~ you nailed it lady! Good goes around.
Wishes for calls & letters for ALL Navy Moms ❤
