hey Sheila, didnt realize you also have a Marine. Where did he go for BC?? What is he doing now? MY oldest leaves for San Diego in late July. I am scared! The Navy just seemed a bit safer to me. But, reading all these posts...???
Hey there Melissa!

My son Brian is in the RP program to be a Religious Program Specialist. He graduated back on March 7, but due to some him changing to the RP program (God definitely knew Brian's heart and made it possible for him to switch rates), he was "on hold" until yesterday, when he flew to Meridian Mississippi. His goal is to become a Navy Chaplain.

While he was still at Great Lakes, he worked under Command Chaplain and learned a little about what his new rate will require of him. He's glad to finally be out of Chicago! LOL

Take care....

Elaine
Hey there! Pick away Sweetie....I'll do the best I can!

Brian has also set the goal of becoming a Chaplain. He's in N.C. right now at combat training and then will report to Okinawa by 10/31/08.

Elaine
You know what's funny about that? They told Brian that there were no openings in that field so he was in boot camp as a boatswaim(sp?). But through the grace of God, he was transferred to the RP program. He was assigned to Great Lakes for A-School, but it was while he was on hold that his rate was changed. Then he was sent to Meridian. He told me that the base isn't actually in Meridian and that to get to town, it's a $20 cab ride, one way. So he stayed on base during A-School. But the classes there are completed at the sailors pace, so Brian was out of there in 4 weeks.
My son is 2 weeks from graduating MA school in San Antonio then will be stationed in Washington for 2 years at the Bangor Base. He is just starting out but wants to try out for the Swat team when he gets there or the SEAL support team.
My son was in the nuke field on a submarine. He now just finished school in Pensacola & will be recruiting for the Navy
Hi Melissa!
Bryan is in GL for Operation Specialist. Looking at air traffic control. He has some other things in mind! He is a man with a plan! A much different young man than the one who was sleeping until noon not too long ago!
My son is an RP which is a Religious Proram Specialist. He is attached to a Marine unit and due to go to Iraq in July with them.
I wish your son wellness, safety and hope for a speedy return to the states. Altho, I am sure he will do well on his job there. Tell him thanks for me in advance. I admire his courage.
