Just curious - where are all the different "A" schools and what jobs go to each one.
I know that Master at Arms has a school on an Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. My son is a Master at Arms, but he got sent to Dam Neck in Virginia Beach, VA. I know that alot of guys have "A" school in Great Lakes. There are about 20 different "A" schools across the street. Which ones stay there? I know the SEALS do.

Congratulations! I don't know anything about Keesler AFB. My daughter is on an army base. For Your son, it means they have consolidated the AG training program and they most likely train joint services: Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy. They are in their own branch of service's living quarters but school together. My daughter is training in MC mass communications with joint services. Now for school to begin! The waiting is tiresome. He probably has to clean or paint things a lot! Tell him to hang in there! Best wishes!
Hey Brenda Sue my sailor is at Pen I am a Spook Mom so happy fall to you. GL is one big beautiful place. From the pics I ve seen of Penn its beautiful too. I have been to Va Beach many times. My sailor recruited out of Va. If at anytime I can be of help to you give me a yell I ll be there. Blessings.
My son is in Pensacola training for RSS (Rescue Swimmer School). That (and GL) seems to be the main training base for a lot of different ratings.

AECF (Advanced Electronics/Computer Field) school is held in Great Lakes. This is the A school for ETs and FCs, if you have a sailor entering these programs, please stop by and join the AECF group on this site. There are over 100 active members and we'd love to have you join us!

My son is at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, SC.  He is a Religious Program Specialist.

Can anyone tell me how I can find out more information about my SR's A school? Is there a informative thread for the ins and outs of it?

My SR (grandson) just PIR'd today and registered for his electronics A school here. He is E-2, FC now. We were allowed to drive him to his new ship in A school for drop off tonite and plan to pick him up ay the gate for the full day tomorrow. First on his list is to return to our room in Navy Lodge and go to sleep in a real bed, When he got his boxers back on for the first time tonite he tossed the Nayy briefs in deep 6. Tratarrios restaurant in Libertyville gave him free meal of his choice tonite.
