Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Received two more letters from Travis yesterday. He missed the day to phone home because he was in SIQ due to his wisdom teeth being removed ): He is hoping to call home soon and anxious for graduation. Hope everyone is getting good news in their letters!

Happy Saturday, here in Texas it was 70 yesterday... We picked my SR up at the airport and she's was in pretty good spirits, and eager to be outside in a tee shirt. I was surprised she left at about 110lbs and came back at 120, she has never put weight on in the past but she said the food there was really good. She is talking about getting better and returning to GL, but it will probably be a few months to a year before her knee will recover. I hope you all have safe trips, and a great time at PIR. Safe and successful journeys for all your SRs.

A year is not such a long time; that is good news! :)

Finally received my phone call from Travis at 9:12pm! He called twice the first time I missed it because I was balling my eyes out due to devastating family news, but I caught my phone in time for when he tried again and we talked for 45 minutes. They just finished marlinspike so his voice was very hoarse. He said the food is good and friends are wonderful and their DIV (085) is stronger and better everyday making progress. He is excited to start SAMT next week and just 19 days until PIR (: He is missing home but doing well along with getting his Wisdom teeth removed and he finally has received boots! He sounded so calm and serious. I had to ask if it was really him he sounded so different! But he said they don't show emotion there so it's kind of hard for me to tell the difference from his excited voice now than when he was here. Hope you all received phone calls (:

Received another phone call from Travis last night (: He said they have a zone inspection along with three other tests  this week. Along with starting SAMT. He's excited and ready for this week it's what they call "hell week" So keep your prayers strong for the SR's to do well they have PFA monday to get the Flag and only 10-15 can fail. 18 days (:

Glad you heard from Travis. Was this your first call from him? My son Jeremy called on Jan 4th. We got to talk for 15 min. Do you know what SAMT is? My last letter from Jeremy said the 3 most important test were coming this week. I pray all the SR's do well. Getting close to PIR. I am glad to hear the division is getting stronger. They need to all work together as a team.

Trav has called about every three days since his first phone call on the 12th

Wow, how are you getting all of these phone calls from Travis? I am so jealous. He must be doing really well to be earning the calls. I am happy for you. It is so tough not being able to see or hear from Jeremy. We got our call on Jan 4th. I would have loved to hear from him on the 13th. That was his 21st birthday. Looking forward to meeting all of our divisions family on PIR day. We will be sitting in front of where our SR's will be standing.

He has extra earned privledges because of his job and because he has done well on scoring and things. It is very comforting to hear from him more than just once in a blue moon! I'm excited for PIR!! (:

My son is div 85. He will be going to Connecticut for a year. Does anyone else have a family member or loved one going there after boot camp?

Small Arms Marksmanship Training. I figure our Div's are on 4-3 tomorrow. Someone said they are the "push" group that was formed late and has to catch up. Also said they will have their last PFA the day before PIR! I can't figure where the other catch up stuff takes place or they wouldn't finish until Feb whenever. Extra pressure and extra prayers, for sure. Sent my SR a Subway card today and hope to see you all soon. Who wants to make a table decoration? If you say me, I'll just bring a balloon; I'm not crafty. Moms, please share your updates, cuz our SR dropped off the map. ;( Just want him to stay focused.  JJ

Jill, I already have the table decoration made for our division. waiting for the next letter from my son, whatever I find out I will let you all know. we do have to pray for all them because of them being so rushed with everything this week. we have to have faith in our srs and trust that they will be okay after all of this
