Hello Bataan friends my daughter has been on the ship for three years looking forward to talking to everyone .

This is my son's first week on the Bataan, he says he's doing great but I think I'm the one that needs reassuring. lol

My daughter has just arrived on the USS Bataan

how is your daughter enjoying the ship, the Bataan was my sons first float welcome

Finally found this group.  Any other Moms of Sailors on the USS Bataan?

I forget not to put name, but my son is on the ship great group

My son is on the Bataan too. He loves it. Today is his 3rd time afloat. I am finally getting used to not talking to him everyday.

I know what you mean, I just enjoy them sharing the photos and once in awhile you see your loved one in one of the photos . my son has been on the Bataan before . He said while deployed he take quite time at the front of the boat. He would see dolphins jumping thru the water. The storys your son will have to share with you is priceless.

I havent gone to see my son yet in VA but want to. He is my oldest and his brother has followed him into the service and my 3rd son is undesided weather to serve but I know his brothers will have a say. I hope to get to see himthere to see what could be his future. Good luck mom and we are all here to support each other. tc Shari

I am a Bataan mom too!  He arrived in Jan as well.  My son just got back from liberty. He is so proud of his ship.. I must say it is amazing. We were there in July and got the chance to have a tour. All I can say is WOW! The Turman (I think) came back from deployment while we were there. They are very very impressive. You know that they have a special FaceBook page to get pictures and some info on them. On Mothers Day I got a Mom greeting from Kevin on FB. When I say it I was crying. We are a great group of Bataan Moms or Navy Moms!!

The Bataan will be my son's first ship.

Hi Caro'smom- this will be my son's first ship as well. He is a CT and does direct support and is slated for deployment after the first of the year sometime. He is training right now and will be on the Bataan for the next couple of months just to learn what his role will be.

My son will be on the Bataan.  He has been in the Navy for 21/2 years and this is his first time on a ship.
